Burning Tea
In my enthusiasm for a good cuppa, I sometimes overheat the water before adding it to the tea. At our current recording session, I am left only with the option of microwaving water. There’s an old (and I mean old) microwave in a nearby kitchenette. During last month’s recording session here I tried turning it to just over one minute. The water was barely warm. This time I tried turning the dial to two minutes. When I added my Typhoo to the heated cup of water, all looked good. However, as I took my seat again the scent of burned tea wafted to my nostrils. It smells a bit like old, used oil in a frying pan. Now the cup has developed some foam. Alas, it’s inedible.
